Sometimes I find dealing with my computer pretty complicated

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Sometimes I find dealing with my computer pretty complicated. I guess I just like to get on with promoting my business and seeing how much I can sell and I am not interested in technical things. I have recently started selling things on line as well as off line and that is great because it means that I am busier, which I love and I am making more money which is great of course too. I know that I can now accept echecks but I have no idea what they are! I also know that I can accept an EFT Payment and again I do not know what that is.

Someone did explain it all to me when they set it up but I am afraid that it did not sink in. I guess I a just not that interested enough to concentrate and pay attention to something like this. I suppose I should try to take more notice because a customer may have a technical question about ACH Processing and I will not be able to answer it. That could mean that I lose out on a sale or that I have to consult with someone else to find that answer out, which again may lead to the customer looking elsewhere and me losing out on a sale.

Data Recovery Software

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

It is a really good idea to have some good data recovery software and it is amazing how many people do not have it. An inexperienced computer user can be forgiven for not having the software because they may not even realise that it exists or that it is possible to do. However, someone that is more experienced should really have different methods to help protect themselves against hardware problems. Many of us get to blaise about these things and think that it will not be a problem for us but then when we do get problems we really wish that we had spent a little more time, money and effort doing something about it in the first place.

Perhaps it is laziness, maybe a lack of funds or most probably a lack of time are the things which prevent us doing it and really all of those problems should be addresses and the problems solved. PC hardware diagnostics can be a really good help as will backing up your data regularly. These things seem simple enough and they need to be done perhaps more regularly than you might think to give you the maximum protection from problems.

IT certification training videos

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

I have just been asked to do some online IT training and I am really nervous. It may sound silly but I have not done any studying since I left school and so I am not sure how well I will get on with it really. I used to enjoy studying but once I started work I had no need to do any and therefore did not do any. Now it has been a few years and I know that they say it is much harder to learn new things as you get older and when you have had a break from learning.

The course looks good and so I am hoping that will help me to become more positive about it all and my initial look at the IT certification training videos was a good one as they seem easy to follow. Hopefully by moving at my own pace I will be able to ease myself back into the pattern of study without too much trouble. I do have a deadline to get it done by but have pretty much all of my evenings and weekends and so I hope that if I can be self disciplined enough to concentrate, things should go well.

A+ training online

Monday, March 30th, 2009

I am really pleased when I see that more and more companies are starting to do computer training online. I think it is a really good way for them to save money as they do not have to pay someone to teach the group, they can do it in their own time if they want to and do it at their own pace meaning they are more likely to succeed at it. I think that people will be more likely to pass their exams and also study in their own time if the resources are easier to access.

It does mean that tutors may be finding it harder to get work, which is a pity but on the other hand businesses should be able to save money on training and hopefully survive this recession. Some are cutting training altogether to reduce costs but this cheaper option should allow them to remain competitive without costing them a fortune. It saddens me when I hear about so many companies being forced to close down and I hope that this A+ training online will really help them to survive in these tough times and still have a well informed and fully trained workforce.

Lawsuit alleges Netflix, Wal-Mart acted improperly

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Several lawsuits filed across the country in the past two weeks allege Netflix Inc and Wal-Mart Stores Inc improperly negotiated Wal-Mart’s departure from the online video market in 2005 to enable both companies to benefit illegally, said a lawyer involved in two suits on Thursday.

“There’s a giant investigation by a number of law firms throughout the country regarding anti-trust collusive behavior between these companies,” said lawyer Daniel Becnel of Reserve, La., who filed one suit in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and one in New Orleans earlier this week.

Becnel said about 40 similar lawsuits had been filed throughout the country in the last two weeks.

Netflix declined to comment, while Wal-Mart said it did nothing wrong when it decided to stop renting DVDs.

“We made our own independent decision to exit the DVD rental business and our subsequent agreement with Netflix is entirely proper,” said Wal-Mart spokeswoman Michelle Bradford in a statement. “We intend to defend vigorously our decisions regarding the products and services offered to our customers.”
